Rainbow's End at Cwmoernant Farm offers a diverse range of hands on, practical,  and
creative workshops where the emphasis is on learning new skills in a relaxed, friendly setting.
We look forward to sharing a warm farmhouse welcome,  great  food and inspiring surroundings
with new friends whilst we help you explore your creative abilities.
Courses for 2010

Courses typically include good basic accommodation in our comfortable
camping barn, or if you prefer to bring your own tent, in our camping
field. 'Upgrades' to stugar or caravan may be available at a small extra
cost, or if you prefer to stay in local B&B, thats fine too. Food is good,
homemade and plentiful, frequently using our own produce or local
ingredients. Please get in touch if you require more information on any

MAY 7-9
Corsetry Weekend:
Working with costumier Helen Mellin explore the history of corsets and prepare a
pattern  for a custom fitted corset of your own.

Friday evening to Sunday, inclusive of food and accommodation (camping barn,
or camping if preferred) £75 (Concession for ‘Downsizer’ members, £55)

MAY 28-30 The farm has been booked for a private function this weekend. We
are a marvellous location for relaxed wedding receptions, fun hands-on
workshops for groups of friends, or as a base for a group camping and walking
expedition. Get in touch if you’d like to discuss an idea for a weekend of your

JUNE 6 Skep Making: A wonderful opportunity to learn how to make your own
traditional bee-skeps, a technique that can also be used to make other baskets.
10-5pm, all materials supplied and including refreshments and a farmhouse
lunch. £40 per person.

JUNE 11-13 Sheep to Shoulder: Fibre Retreat with Shearing demonstration.
Enjoy watching traditional shearing skills then take part in transforming the new
wool clip into useful yarn, rugs and dyed fibre. Friday evening to Sunday
afternoon, £80 including food and accommodation, £30 for a single day visit.

JULY 9- 11: Make do and Mend. Brush up your darning, buttonhole, knitting,
crochet, spinning and creative recycling  skills at this practical weekend aimed at
helping you get the most out of your existing resources. With Helen Mellin and
Sally Pointer.

JULY 23-25.The farm has been booked for a private function this weekend.

AUGUST 21/22 Fibre Retreat: Come and spend the weekend enjoying fibre
arts as diverse as spinning, weaving, feltmaking, knitting, crochet and dying.
Bring a project of your own or dip into new skills, all supported by excellent
home cooked food and friendly relaxed surroundings.

Friday evening to Sunday, inclusive of food and accommodation (camping barn,
or camping if preferred) £75 (Concession for ‘Ravelry’ members or returning
visitors, £60)

OCTOBER 9 Pointy Hat Day: A special one day workshop with> pointy hat
specialist Sally Pointer. Learn how to make a unique and very wearable hand
felted pointy hat from scratch in one day. Felting can be strenuous work, be
prepared to work hard, but we'll keep you fuelled with a hearty farmhouse lunch
and homemade cakes. All supplies provided. £50 per person.
Those travelling long distances may wish to stay overnight in which case we can
offer an evening meal, camping barn accommodation and breakfast the
following day for an extra £10 per head


CARMARTHENSHIRE BEEKEEPERS ASSOCIATION meet here throughout the
